[MR] Subject: Predator - Caught!

I understand what Logan is saying and I agree that education and vigilant
parenting can prevent abuse in just about all cases.
I have a 2-year-old daughter, and no one. NO ONE is alone with her that I do
not trust implicitly. And that trust is not given lightly. Everyone gets
evaluated as a potential threat, from the creepy guy with the conversion van
hanging out at the playground to family members. It's my job and I plan to
do it until she moves out. Even then, I'll keep doing it if I can.
Does this mean 100% certainty that abuse won't happen? No, but I will have
damn sight better odds than some other parents I see every day.
Besides, while I don't want to minimize the threat this guy posed, he is the
distracting outlier. The stranger abuser is the rarest kind of sexual
predator and the easiest to protect against. Most predators are relatives or
family friends.
Just my 2 cents
