M'Lady Patricia,
I missed the whole thing. I was out on my afternoon break walking around
the duck pond here at the University when it happened. I returned to the
library to find all my co-workers milling about in the parking lot and
very disturbed. No apparent damage here, but My Lady Sarah called me
just after I got back in. Apparently phone service was disrupted and she
had a hard time getting through. While we were talking a fire alarm went
off at her office. Maybe an aftershock.
This is a poop. I haven't been through an earthquake since I was in the
service in Long Beach. Our office was on the eleventh floor of a
high-rise. The admiral's secretary went into a panic every time her
potted plants swayed, which is pretty often in Southern California. We
always knew when there was an earthquake, even if we didn't feel it.
Kind regards,
Lord Mungo
