Greetings to the Tavern,
Adelhait, in my mind the Landed Baron and Baroness are responsible for
one thing: the 'theatre' that makes our game unique. That encompasses
the awards, the pageantry, esprit de corps, 'bling', whatever it is
that helps pull the Barony together as a group of kindred spirits. You
and I have experienced a few B&Bs together... think Ameline or that
incredible pair from Bjornsborg.....

Personally, I also depend on 'my pair' to pour oil on troubled waters
when sabres are rattled at us from outside the Barony. As the
Seneschal, I look to them for input that isn't 'just the rules' and
legal-sort-of stuff. It's also nice that they rush out to help those
needing it, including the entire DAY our Baroness spent in ER with me
not long ago, think up more 'schtick' than any six people, and still
stand before us with honesty, honor, and integrity as an example for us
all to follow. Now, lest you think they're sticks in the mud (and a B&B
should NEVER be that!), our Baron is a Brewer who shares generously of
his products and also enjoys them himself!

B&Bs are also the 'big bugs' in their local area. A welcoming and
friendly approach to new folks, be they new to the Society or 'just new
around here' goes a huge long way towards recruiting and retention.
Dour, miserable, or extremely shy folks may have trouble with this one...

Of course, as a garb nut, I like to see my B&B dressed to the nines for
their Personas. Whatever that is, take it the whole way please!
There's nothing cooler than walking behind our Coronets and seeing heads
turn and faces crease in smiles of pleasure at Their appearance! Unless
it's watching them receive recognition from the Crowns....now that one
is a real topper!

Just my dua lira,
Gerita
