A bright and clear morning sun shone down on the lands of Raven's Cove on the
eighteenth day of September in the fourty-fifth year of our Society as Her
Majesty Gerhild summoned the populace to gather and establish a Barony in
those fair lands. After a procession of the new barony's regalia, including
a very large and finely shaped axe, Her Majesty called forward Master Torquil
MacTaggert the Steadfast and Lady Katharine de la Vache to take custody of
the newly elevated group as the first Baron and Baroness of Raven's Cove. After
Lady Katherine requested a boon and asked for release from her protegeeship from
Mistress Collwen ferch Dafydd Caerlleon, which was reluctantly given to be
resumed at a later date, the two most worthy individuals were so invested and
created Baron and Baroness of Raven's Cove.
After the morning court a wonderful day of food, sport and friendship was shared
by all and as the sun began to dip down in the west Her Majesty Gerhild,
Drottning Atlantia, did call together the populace once more and hold a court.
After welcoming the newcomers to the event their new Excellencies of Raven's
Cove did request to hold a court with permission to do so graciously given by
Her Majesty. Once their Excellencies of Raven's Cove had given their thanks for
deeds done on behalf of the lands of Raven's Cove they ended their court and
Her Majesty's court resumed.
Muirenn ingen Taloric was called forward and Awarded her Arms in recognition for
her good works then Lord Olaf Stammkopf was summoned forth and placed in the
Order of the Opal for his beneficial deeds. Magdalena Carmela Ponce was given
an Award of Arms as thanks for the beneficial things she has done and Baron
Cadwgan Ty Mawr was given the Order of the Coral Branch for his wonderful work
with mead making.
Lord William atte Nunn was then called forward to receive the Order of the
Silver Osprey for all the things he has done to promote the fighting arts at
home and abroad. Finally, after all others had been given their due, Lord Jehan
Franc de Blauvac was made a companion of the Order of the Golden Dolphin for his
most excellent works on the behalf of the Kingdom of Atlantia. All things done
Her Majesty Gerhild ended her court and all adjourned to prepare for the
evening's meal.
The feast was well prepared, portioned and received and after all had consumed
their fill Her Majesty Gerhild was minded to open Her court one last time to
give Roland Manderly an Award of Arms for all his good works in his home group
of Seareach and abroad (as the young man had been serving feast that very
night). With that Her Majesty closed her court and everyone retired to a gentle
evening of conversation and comraderie.
So were things done by my witness,
