That's why having a Scribe's Point would be nice... not only can there
be classes but it can just simply be a place for scribe's to share
information, how-to's and what-not-to-do and even learn how to fix
scrolls or share materials with wanna-be scribes. It can also surround
the social aspect of just sitting down, chatting while scribbling or
painting. No deadlines just leisurely scroll work here among the
company of friends.

I can understand the feeling of being "overwhelmed" with scrolls... I
was there once! I started scribing in another Kingdom and just being
new the SCA was scary enough. In fact my first scribe meeting at a
Kingdom level event I really didnt know what I was doing there and sat
in the corner hoping no one would notice (which is weird because I
love art, but I do know im knda shy)... but one lady (who 6 months
after that recieved her writ for Laurel in scribal arts) talked to me
and made me feel welcome and then soon others were talking to me about
what I wanted to do with scribing. They all set me up with details of
what materials to use for a first timer and where I could find
resources both books and online, etc etc etc. I haven't stop scribing
since...

I helped a friend get started with scribing before I left the other
Kingdom...she too felt overwhelmed by the idea...but now she does at
least 2-3 "AoA quality" scroll blanks in roughly a 4 month time frame.
(She is also a seneshal of the local group, regularily volunteers in
the kitchen at events if not part of the head chef's staff and
costuming teaches classes at smaller events)
