Greetings friends & fellow art enthusiasts,
Back in October I had the pleasure and oppourtunity to spend a whole
day in the Art Institue of Chicago museum. Out of the several museums
Ive been able to explore this one is now in my "Top Three" for Awesome
Museums.. the other two being the Stadel Museum in Frankfurt, Germany
and The German-Roman History museum in Cologne, Germany (both of those
albums are included in my Picasa web albums btw)
I have uploaded my pictures to the web but have not transfered all the
data (the item name, exhibit #, addt'l info, etc from the museum
plates/plaques) for everything... it will take me some to input the
rest. I have up to #365 mostly completed, but if you need further
information on what a specific item/painting/statue/etc please shoot
me an email off-list with my album picture # and I will see what info
I have for it. Also, keep in mind that some items may be 17-19th
century BUT the majority easily pertains to SCA timeline. Exhibits
included range from Ancient Egyptian & Roman, 12-19th century Europe,
Asian (there is one small Mongolian headdresses exhibit), etc.
Unfortunately, the armor and arms exhibit was not re-opened to the
public while I was there...in fact it opened the day I had to fly
back. :(

You can also peruse the AIC museum online catalog, as there are things
are not display but may be related to research you are conducting
within the SCA.
