Just remember that even a brilliant doctor might not have much experience treating this or that ailment. So the onus of learning all one can about a patient's ailment is on the patient.

 

Doctors can be brilliant. They can also be the sorts of people who prescribe sugar to treat hypoglycemia and antibiotics to treat a concussion. For instance. ;-)
