[MR] Hypothetical question regarding demos and protected weekends

Hypothetically speaking, if a group were asked to put on a public demo on a
specific date, that fell up against a protected weekend, what would be the
things to consider?

Realizing of course that most SCAdians would likely be going to whatever
fell on that protected weekend (University, Crown Tourney, etc) dependent
upon proximity, what other ramifications would there be? Obviously it would
be up to the group to say no, we're sorry, we're not available that weekend,
but suppose the protected event were far enough away that the group wanted
to do the demo anyway?

As I understand it, demos aren't "Official" events, though they can be.
