Hi Everybody,

Lace was an important decorative aspect of 16th century costume and home
decor.
Wouldn't it be great if there was a simple way to find out what period lace
looked like?
Not just pictures, but actual lace? Wouldn't it be great to see how it was
made and get
some good sources for research?

If you are going to Pennsic there is! There will be a lacemaking tent at
Artisan's Row on
Wednesday of war week (8/11/10).

If you are a lacemaker, bring your lace to display and bring a project to
work on.
If you have teaching materials, bring them too!

If you would like to learn how to make lace, this is a great chance! Stop
by, see the different
types of period lace and get a lesson while you are there. You can also get
contact information
so you can learn more later.

If you do 16th century costume but aren't sure which lace to get at the
fabric store, this is a
great chance to see the different types of period lace. You can see what
they looked like and how
they drape (something you can't get from a book).

The tent will be open all day on Wednesday. Stop by for as long or as short
a time as you would like.

Mistress Nest from the East (bobbin lace laurel) will be there as will I.

Thanks,

Arrienne
