Make it stop! Please, make it stop! Sorry, but here is more information that is vital for you to know before you leave your manor and travel to 12th Night in Morehead City, NC....
We are planning to do what every good Viking would have done in Valhalla (at least, we think this would have happened) -
Feast - already covered that in an earlier email.
Fun - Well, yes, of course! This is, after all, Valhalla and Odin would ask that you enjoy yourself. The site is wet (please, make sure that you do not openly display bottles. Keep them in the cooler and pour your libations into a suitable mug!) All bottles must be taken home with you!
Games - Ah, here is where we have more fun. Here is a small taste of some of the games we will be offering:
Pillow and Bells - A chance to show your prowess on the list (indoors) and your acute sense of hearing
Bottle jousting - Think you have good balance? Let's see what happens in the afternoon as you attempt to challenge other fighters while balancing on a bottle! Not as easy as you think.
Heavy fighters - We will be having challenges over a barrier for those that wish to participate, so bring your armor! (Indoorif weather is bad)
Rapier fighters - We also have something for you to demonstrate your keen ability at point control. Think Jenga on a bigger scale!
Games of strength - If the weather holds true, we will have some games outside that will test your strength and get you ready for Ymir (after all, isn't that what the Vikings would have done - proven themselves to all others?)
Royal Bardic Competition - We will be hosting the Royal Bardic competition for those who wish to prove their prowess in this area.
Table Decorating Competition - Bring your best and show off your skills. Candles are allowed but must be encased in glass of some sort, which must extend above the wick!
Tempore Atlantia - The time period for this competition is 1492-1600. Bring out your best!
Medallion Competition - Your Kingdom needs you! Bring out your medallians in whatever form you desire and be prepared to donate them for future use to the populace of Atlantia. Contact me for any particulars.
A&S Competition - Things that the Vikings would have pillaged and/or plundered on their travels! Please, no livestock or bond servants!
Scroll Competition - Help to complete those back-logged scrolls and show us your talent!
Youth A&S Competition - To encourage the youth of Atlantia in the A&S areas.
Not enough to occupy your time? We will also have merchants, vigils, your friends, a beautiful event site overlooking the water, several households taking members, and so much more. I promise that we will not get snowed out (am I good or what)!
Take a moment and get your reservations in. Then sit back, ring in the New Year and start packing your gear and your best Vinking garb for this great event. You can even speak to the event steward about all these emails! Wait, that's me!!
YIS,
Baroness Katharine de la Vache
Event Steward
