Hello my good friends.
My friend Donwenna that got me back into the SCA when I was serving with her
majesty's forces in the Levant (read Afghanistan) was really into equestrian.
The biggest pet peeve of M'Lady was people that wanted to ride her horse and not
put in any leg work help her horse. Because of her I have learned how to speak
with horse owners. I used to ride when I worked as a hired hand at my friend's
farm in Northshield (North Dakota). I would like to ride, even if not for
equestrian activities just as a butt on a horse while in garb at an event. I
don't know what equestrian event I will be at next, but I would like to learn
things about equestrian and would be willing to exchange three times the time
spent in the saddle of stable-hand work, whether it be feeding, brushing,
putting on or taking off tack, picking up the horses' "presents" or whatever you
say with a minimum of 1 hour service to you before or after at your choice.
In mundane geography, I'm in Havelock, NC. I don't have the time that a lot of
people have to devote to the SCA (Married Marine on Active Duty with 3 <almost
4> kids and a wife) so I won't always be able to help out during offtime. That
said, my kids have been in love with horses (though I haven't made it back to
Northshield to let them ride) and if you're close, and we have the time, we can
come out on weekends to ride and help (and for me learn) during free time. Just
out of preference and not causing questions being asked, single females neeed
not apply (sorry, nothing against you, but out of respect for you and my family
I don't want people thinking the wrong things about us)
If anyone is interested in contacting me please do so. If you don't need
someone to work the horses (talking about not at an event) I also know how to
repair fence if it's worth anything.
Thanks for your time
Tymothe.
