In NC, 2 years ago the magic number was 300. I know because the Best Man @ our wedding almost single handedly got the Durham Bulls Liscense plates through by getting the design up on the website, having a picture @ games with the forms for people to sign and puttin up a table @ 75 games . it took him 1 summer.

I've had the same thought before.  I looked it up on the MD DMV website, and
you have to have a certain number of applicants to have that plate made.  I
can't remember if it was as little as 15 or closer to 50.  I have no idea of
where funds go, if anywhere else, but I'd get one.
