Ahhhh, sad news indeed. Not only a fine and honourable fighter, and an excellent feast cook, he had a wry sense of humour that usually had me shaking my head as I laughed. He was one who enjoyed life in its many aspects. Seems like almost everything amused him.
Farewell, my friend. May you have a seat at the table, or a place by the stove, or a bench by the side of the lists and perfectly-fitting harness - ah, why not all three? Plus whatever other joys to share with your friends and comrades forever.
Enjoy the voyage.

Subject: [MR] Sad News...
It is with a great deal of sadness that I share the news that one of the
brightest lights in Atlantia has gone out. Last night, Sir Thorvald
Gundaarsson (mka Dr. Matt Severns) died of complications following surgery
for bladder cancer. Sir Thorvald was a gentleman and an example of all that
a peer should be. Though he didn't do much cooking in the past few years,
he also helped to train many of Atlantia's cooks.
For his friends, there will be a celebration of his life on Saturday at 2:00
p.m. in the park across from his and Lady Victoria's home in Kensington,
MD.
