[MR] What's up with Combat Archers & Atlantia?

in all fairness and with an effort of total disclosure that list is a great
source of information regarding combat archery.  it is also a cheerleader
list only, stay away from it if you are not 100% behind combat archery as it
is or else you will be treated in such a horrific and vitriolic way that you
may, as dozens of others have, actually turn against the activity because of
the way you get treated.  granted there are only a few folks on that list
that spew their venom but, unfortunately, everyone else stays quiet while
they do.  that list has turned so many people completely against combat
archery because of the way they were treated that is probably better to stay
away from it unless you are a rabid supporter of combat archery as it is and
only want it to be more easy and more exalted.

I responded to Wolfram offlist; an offer of encouragement.. but what I
recommend is that if anyone is interested in CA in more depth there is a
yahoo group called "SCA-Missile-Combat" that is very active in the
discussion of this sport. Anything from the updates of arrow specs (society
wide) to safety issues such as helm penetrations....
