Wolfram - while I applaud your zeal, I have to point out that Atlantia does not 'hate' combat archery. On the contrary! I am very proud of the advances Atlantia has made. I thought I had done a better job of explaining things to you at Novice, but I'll try again.
Siloflex tubes, according to the Atlantian CA rules, are 'experimental'. Because I could not find any record of such a program I did not see any reason to continue with one. I'm sorry if archers spent money on exerimental ammo (even if they are legal in other Kingdoms).
It may be that Siloflex bolts were legalized in the past and just never got in to
the rules. I am researching that. If anyone can help in this search, please tell me your results. If it should turn out that they were
legalized I will update the rules and post the result to the Merry Rose and Acorn. Until then, I beg everyone to maintain their good temper.

Why do Atlantians dislike combat archery so much? After Pennsic last year, I had thought that Atlantia was starting to see the value of CA. But, I heard this weekend that Atlantia will be banning tube (siloflex) ammo after Pennsic this year. I hope that I just misunderstood what was being said, because that will cause a
lot of people to quit doing Combat Archery. I know my friends and I have almost $600 invested in tube bolts and over $1200 in crossbows designed to shoot them! This gear isn’t cheep! I don’t know how Atlantia can expect people to loose that kind of investment and keep playing!
I honestly can’t see why Atlantia would have a problem with tube ammo anyway. Heavy bows/crossbows and tube ammo has been deemed safe at the Society level as well as in numerous other kingdoms. An Atlantian swung sword will hit with a lot more mass and force then any bolt or arrow ever will! So why is the Atlantian Chivalry/heavy fighters trying to keep the CA numbers down? Remember, bows/crossbows are weapons of war. In most cases, they are going to be used against our enemies in support of our own troops. Keeping the Combat Archer numbers down is only going to hurt Atlantia and help our rivals. They are working on build up their CA numbers, so don’t you think it
would be wise for us to do the same? Not make it harder and drive combat archers away!
If someone could explain what is going on, and why, I would greatly appreciate it! Also, is there a Forum where this stuff is discussed? If we could see and take part in the discussions, we wouldn’t feel so blindsided when the rules get changed.
