when did we get rid of the old "verification of authorization"? seems very irresponsible to simply trade in a card from another kingdom without checking to see if the person trading in the card is familiar with atlantian standards. coming from meridies one main difference off the bat is face thrusting. in meridies its mere contact, here force is required. without them knowing that we are setting them up for an issue should they tap a grille with a thrusting tip and the other fighter, rightfully so, ignores it. i dont recall the change listed below, anyone know when that came to be? kynny, can you contact me off list about this?

>From Kingdom Policy:
3.4.1.6 Fighters with a valid authorization from another kingdom who
move into Atlantia may trade in for an Atlantian authorization card.
See the Policies of the MoL for the procedure.
3.4.3.2 Marshals wishing to conduct authorizations at practice must
obtain prior permission to do so from the Deputy Earl Marshal for
Armored Combat, and coordinate MOL support to insure all reporting
standards, both for MICs and for MOLs, are adhered to.
(If they're fencers, then substitute in the DEM - Rapier for DEM -
Armored Combat. If they're another discipline, contact the appropriate
DEM for guidance. A list of DEMs is on the right column of
http://marshal.atlantia.sca.org/)
So, if their Meridian auth is current, they can just trade it in. If
they choose to re-auth, doing so at an event is preferred, but with
permission it can be done at a practice.

They are planning to go to Pennsic and are currently authorized in Meridies, but would like to learn the Atlantian rules and authorize Atlantian before war. I know authorizations will be done at Assessments, but I would also like to offer them another choice should they not be able to attend Assessments. They are currently living in Charlsbury Crossing and are also interested in local fighter practices.
