Good morning,
Speeding much over the speed limit is the pinnacle of foolishness in Virginia, especially on weekends, and especially especially on "Air Land and Speed" weekends (such as Memorial Day weekend). The advice you give below is spot on -- I endorse it wholeheartedly.
Barcsi Janos
Who has sped and been ticketed on three continents, but I don't do it in Virginia

I know there's a stretch of US 460 that's like that, and there are "safety corridors" and they do mean business there... but I'lve lived in VA my entire life and I travel 8 miles over the limit (usually more) every day for about 70 miles roundtrip and as long as you're with the flow of traffic and it's not an "enforcement weekend" it's usually not a problem...
Now.. add an out of state plate to the mix, and all bets are off. A lot of the little towns and etc. use speedtraps as a way to supplement their ever dwindling coffers.
Rhiannon (the last ticket I got in VA.. or anywhere was 12 years ago and that one I deserved!)
