[MR] An update on Storvik Novice Tourney and Dun Carraig Challengeof the Heart

	I'd like to add to this information, if I may (shameless plug...I'm
_so_ excited about this next part!!)... 

	The Barony of Dun Carraig will also be sponsoring a Ladies Gallery
during the Pas. This is an opportunity for Ladies of the kingdom who
wish to share in fellowship to gather and watch the tournament. It is
also an opportunity for fighters who weary of testing themselves on
the list field to challenge the ladies of the Gallery and thus prove
their true nobility. The gathered ladies will be provided with
questions of a historic and/or chivalric nature with which to question
those fighters who brave the Seat Perilous. The Ladies Gallery will
also have a chessboard available, and words of rhyme or sweet praise
are also worthy challenges for the ladies.  

	Ladies, please come to the Gallery dressed to impress and inspire.
Light refreshments will be provided, but if you have a particular
specialty to share with your sisters of the gallery, it will but make
our time together more enjoyable. Please be prepared to bestow some
token of esteem upon those who please you, be it a ribbon, flower or
simply a fair smile. 

	Good and fierce warriors of Atlantia, when called to the Gallery
(and into the presence of the ladies) by the Knight of Honor, please
marshal your soldier's spirit and show restraint that is more becoming
to men of your breeding. Let there be no spitting or scratching, no
dropping of arms where they fall. Let your words and manners be
pleasing to those of the fairer sex. In this way you will both honor
Atlantia, and the one who inspires you to bend your will for combat.
There shall be no loitering in the Ladies Gallery, lest your motives
for lingering cast shame upon the ladies gathered within. 'Tis not a
tavern, but a gathering of noble ladies, wives and mothers. 

	Unto our talented musicians of Atlantia, your company and skills
would be MOST welcome in the gallery, if you have a mind to lend them.
Please contact me off list if you might consider providing sweet
accompaniment to the gentlest flowers of Atlantia. 

	Please send in your pre-registrations with all haste, that the
Baronies of Storvik and Dun Carraig may well prepare for your arrival!

 I wanted to send a quick reminder and some updates on Novice Tourney
and Challenge of the Heart. Also known as Novice of the Heart. Or
Challenge of the Novice. Well, you get the idea.
 I know how disappointed you will all be if the feast sells out, so
make your plans now and get your registrations in. The roast pork
promises to be yummy and the pistachio cream is one of my all-time
favorites. I also highly recommend reserving space around the tourney
field for your pavilion. Please contact  for more information and
please remember the pavilion raising/dropping fundraiser for Duchess
Arielle.
 Did I mention we are having fighting? Between the Torchlight Tourney
on Friday evening (8pmish), Novice Tourney, Challenge of the Heart
pas, and War Practice, the heavy weapon fighters should have their
fill. Authorizations start bright and early Saturday morning (8amish),
so plan on an early start. Novice Tourney will start at 10am and the
Pas will follow directly after. We also have rapier combat planned - a
Novice Tourney and a Challenge of the Heart Rose Tourney. For the
youths, there will be the required parent and fighter class taught, a
quick practice, followed by a tournament.
 Novice fighters - make sure to send in an electronic version of your
heraldry so we can make a banner for you. If you do not have
registered heraldry, please let us know so we can prepare an alternate
banner with your name on it. All banner requests need to be in by
June13, to give us time to paint the banners.
