You're absolutely right, and the same could be said for brandishing a tape-wrapped ball bat. 

 

You know, unless you were smiling when you said this, this is kind of offensive. I had hoped we'd passed those day by when the rapier community was treated as a bunch of second class citizens. Why the heavy community has historically been threatened by the rapier community has always been a bit of a mystery to me. I would think that any opportunity to attract people to our game with the sheer number of respectable and respected activities we offer would be welcomed, but we as a society have always seemed to drag our heels when it comes to doing the right thing by ALL our fighters. 

 

It's way past time for this. WAAAAY past time.
