I agree completely.

This is not an "in game matter", it is a matter of discipline between
the non-period BoD and a member.

Events are not the place for dealing with it.  Particularly when a
non-peer seeing a petition being circulated is naturally going to ask
"what's going on?"

And, regretfully, we can not guarantee that the person answering the
question will be as even-handed as some are.
