I don't know if old fashion or not but when I flirt I fiirt with one at time because I have intreast in that certain person therefor I had 1 clove in my fruit... no ick factor

Did anyone actually give a description of how it was done?? If so, I overlooked it.? But as I was around during the heyday of the custom, I figure I'm in an excellent position to explain it if no-one else has.

I am glad someone has finally explained this tradition. I saw it mentioned on 
one of the SCA websites under the "flirting" section. I love learning about 
these old traditions and this one sounds not just fun but charming as well... 
Wish some one would do this at one of the events like the "tournament of Love 
and Chilvary" or some other romance focused event! This seems like it could use 
some reviving as long as everyone agrees to follow the same set of rules....
