[MR] Cash at the Check-in table

Gentle folk,
   A recent email thread on another list has reminded me of a plea I once
meant to make here, so I beg your indulgence.

The folks running the check-in table (or Troll Booth, as us old Trolls would
have it) usually have limited funds to create change with, especially at the
beginning of the day - which is when we have the greatest crowd. Now, if you
are like my husband and I, the last thing you do before hitting the road for
an event is to gas up your vehicle and use the ATM machine to pull cash for
pocket-money.

It would be a real boon if, after getting your cash, those who are going to
use it to pay their entrance fee would perhaps buy a beverage, a bit of
candy, a piece of fruit or some other small thing so as to break one of
their new $20s into smaller bits suitable for creating "exact change" for
the trol- er, event registrar's, staff.*

*I'm not even gonna try to suggest pre-registering to avoid that all... but
if you do pre-register, consider adding your membership card number and
expiration date to your note - that little detail will speed up the line
considerable as the check-in folks won't have to copy it down, simply
eyeball the card and you're in...
