Bera,
May I suggest one pointer, move away from the word "Viking". Fix your
geographic origin first. Look at places like Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the
Danelaw, Shetland, Orkney, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Greenland, and if you
have a yen for those things eastern consider looking into the varangian
guard. Once you have a location you find appealing look for a dig or
evidence from that area to broaden your wish list of things you want to make
or buy. I am fond of the trade port or frojel on the island of Gotland in
Sweden. That's where I get my resources when I work on things for my
daughter. My Knight was fond of the Danelaw. Once you fix the where and
when it will be a cakewalk. Lastly, a pleasant discourse that enlightens
those who participate can never be offensive, so please don't feel you need
to apologize.
Your servant,
James ap Llewelyn, squire to Sir Gauss

<snip> This discussion makes the point much better than I ever could -
there is much conflicting information in circulation about Vikings.
