Greetings,

After the dancing and revels of 12th night, we invite everyone to join
us in a friendly dance competition at Kingdom Arts and Sciences
Festival on March 1st. Everyone is welcome to compete - groups with
practices, groups without practices, couples, households, and anyone
who loves renaissance dance.

Groups should prepare a performance that is 2-10 minutes long
including a brief introduction to explain to the judges and audience
some of the history and interpretation of the dance. Written
documentation is highly encouraged. Live musicians are suggested but
not required. If there is sufficient interest there will be 3
categories: General European dance, English Country Dance, and Middle
Eastern dance.

The judging is a little different than in the past. This year we ask
that each group select one member to act as a judge for the other
groups. Therefore if there are 5 groups, each group will be judged by
the 4 other judges. The judges will be provided an evaluation form and
will not score their own group.

Anyone who is interested in competing should contact me so we can know
that all expected judges and groups are present. The exact room and
time will be announced at a later point.
