[MR] garb, events and newcomers

Actually, we used to do this back in the day. We had a stack of red and white surcoats we could hand out. They were basically open-sided surcoats with a neckhole, parti colored red and white in Canton colors. They'd fit anyone and could just be belted over for a custom fit. 
 
They also would do double duty if the fighters all wanted to look like a single unit in a melee or war or something. Very handy thing to have.
