[MR] newcomers (And white belts)

Dear Sir Andras,

Once again, I wish all knights were as sensible as you.  Long ago at my
first event, I came as a steppes horseman.  I had a big brass dragon pendant
on a brass chain, and a tulwar sword tied up in a muslin sash.  I was
promptly scolded by a KSCA who objected to both the sash and the chain.  I
thought it took some imagination to see either a plain gold chain or a white
belt in that getup.  Later, I switched time periods and went to an event
wearing a Van Dyke puff and slash outfit.  It had a beige satin sash with
metallic gold stripes and gold tassels.  To my amazement, the same KSCA
complained about that sash, too.  One would have to be on drugs to think it
was anywhere near a white belt.  It's a wonder I didn't quit the game on the
spot.
