I assume that the part you are disagreeing with is the lack of a location
because the SCA.org site already uses the pre-17th century part and has for
as long as I have been a member. I have only been a member for a few years
but in that time I have never seen the SCA put a limit on how early the
period a person recreates is, just on how late.

I know that there are groups in the society that limit how early they want
people to go but I haven't seen an SCA wide standard for that. I always
figured that it was like very thing else in the society. Your local groups
rules can be stricter than the societie's rules but not less strict than the
ones set forth by the society.

I aggree though, that if anything in the statements is something you
disagree with then you should voice your opinion to the board.
