[MR] Royal Court Reports for the Barony of Bright Hills Baronial Birthday held Feb. 9, 2008

On February 9, 2008, being A.S. XLII, Her Royal Majesty, Rowan Berran 
McDowell did hold several courts.

During her first court she requested Baroness Chagun Khulan (aka 
Baroness Ekaterina Vladimirovna) come before the court.  At this time 
she asked the Order of the Pelican to join Her in placing Her 
Excellency on vigil to contemplate joining their Order.  This than did 
close Her Majesty’s court.
The following events did occur during Her Majesty’s second court of the 
day:
Her Excellency Chagun Khulan was asked to come forth.  At this time the 
Order of the Pelican were requested once again to come before the 
court.  To witness Her Excellency in taking her oath in fine Mongolian 
tradition, thus elevating her to hence forth be known as Chagun Khulan 
Baghsi.

Her Majesty did than request Lord Bruce the Robert come forth.  Upon 
arriving from the kitchen where he was head cook for the evenings 
feast, he was awarded the Order of the Coral Branch.  Her Majesty’s 
court was temporarily closed so Her Excellency, Martelle von 
Charlottenburg, Baroness of Bright Hills could attend some business she 
had with Lord Bruce.  This being done Her Majesty’s court resumed.

Alexander Fowler was asked to step away from the gate and come before 
Her Majesty.  For all his diligent service Their Majesties were of a 
mind to Award him Arms.

Lady Lucrezia di Francesca was requested to come into court.  At this 
time Her Majesty did ask that the Order of the Golden Dolphin join them 
at this time.  Lady Lucrezia was at this time brought into the order of 
the Golden Dolphin, conveying with it a Grant of Arms

Her Majesty did than call Aine ferch Domnhuil ap Rhys, otherwise known 
as ‘bella, to come forth.  For tireless service in many kitchens, Aine 
was Awarded Arms.

At this point Her Majesty requested the Order of the Pelican to come 
forth.  Upon conferring with them that their numbers were incomplete 
this day.  She did send a member of the Order to bring forth Her 
Excellency Cordelia FitzRobert of York.  Her Majesty did ask Her 
Excellency to also consider becoming a member of the Order.  Her 
Majesty’s court did close with Her Majesty and the Order taking Her 
Excellency to sit vigil.

Later in the evening Her Majesty did open court once more.


At this time Her Excellency Cordelia FitzRobert of York was requested 
to return to court.  The Order of the Pelican too was asked to return 
at this time.  Her Excellency did humbly hear the kind words of many 
near and far and take the oath of her Peerage.  Being Elevated to 
Mistress Cordelia FitzRobert of York.

Tasura to je Stariji was asked to come forward, escorted by her son.  
For service and skills she has freely given, Tasura was risen to the 
rank of Noblity and Awarded Arms.

At this time, Her Majesty was of a mind to inquire on the preparations 
for dinner.  Mistress Jeanne Tennuer de Bec, came forward to assure Her 
Majesty that all was well in hand.  At this time Her Majesty did ask 
the Order of the Pelican to come forward once again.  Mistress Jeanne 
was asked to consider joining the Order.

Her Excellency, Martelle von Charlottenburg, Baroness of Bright Hills 
did then ask a boon of Her Majesty.  Thus granted, Her Excellency asked 
to place the care of the Barony into Her Majesty’s hands for a short 
time.  Her Majesty did so consent.  At this time Mistress Martelle von 
Charlottenburg, Order of the Laurel did ask Her Majesty to bear witness 
to the taking of her first apprentice.  Her Majesty with pleasure did 
witness the oath taken between Mistress Martelle and Lady Katerina das 
Vögelein.  Her Majesty did than give the care of the Barony of Bright 
Hills back into Her Excellency’s capable hands.

At this time Her Majesty did temporarily close court so that Her 
Excellency could conduct a few pieces of business.

Upon conclusion of Her Excellency’s court, Her Majesty did reopen her 
court by asking that Lord Owen Sherard Trahern come into court.  Upon 
his arrival, the Order of the Pearl were called forth.  Her Majesty did 
at this time induct Lord Owen into the Order of the Pearl, conveying 
with this a Grant of Arms.  Lord Owen was presented with two medallions 
at this time a carved bone one Mistress Martelle made using the skill 
Lord Owen taught her and in what has become a Bright Hills tradition, 
an edible one, of mystery meat and cheese.


Doña Isabella Benalca'zar, Rastrillo Herald, did request a moment of 
Her Majesty’s time to conduct a piece of heraldic business on behalf of 
Mistress Rhiannon ui Neill, Triton Principal Herald.  Thus given Lady 
Alexandria Wright was called into court.  At this time Lady Alexandria 
was promoted to the rank of full Herald within the Atlantian College of 
Arms.  Upon which Lady Alexandria was given a goblet of water to drink 
 from as much as possible, that which she was unable to finish was used 
to Baptise her as a Herald.  With the instructions to start thinking of 
a title to be registered for her use.

Her Majesty did respectfully ask that the family of Her Excellency 
Roana de Laci come forward if possible.  At this time she did ask the 
Order of the Golden Dolphin to rise, so that Her Excellency’s family 
could bear witness to the those within the Order.  Her Majesty did 
present Her Excellency’s family with scroll and medallion in Her 
Excellency’s honor.  Her Excellency had been inducted into the Order in 
December within the Barony of Ponte Alto convey with this a Grant of 
Arms.

Mistress Jeanne Tennuer de Bec was asked to come back into court.  At 
this time the Order of the Pelican were requested to come forward.  Her 
Majesty did apologize for the inability to hold a proper vigil this day 
and promised one would be held at a later date as Mistress Jeanne did 
not have a vigil when she was inducted into the Order of the Laurel.  
With words from near and far Mistress Jeanne Tennuer de Bec was 
welcomed lovingly into the Order of the Pelican.

There having been no further business at this time Her Majesty did 
close Her court.

During feast, Her Majesty was of a mind to open a short court.  At this 
time she requested Dame Olwen the Odd to come forward.  In recognition 
for the hand embroidered Peerage scrolls given during the earlier 
courts, each as unique as the Pelicans who received them.  Her Majesty 
did than present Dame Olwen the Odd with the Silver Nautilus.

There being no futher business Her Majesty did close court.
