Yes!  The Siege of Ennis.  Thank you.  I was sure somebody in the tavern
would know.

 

Of course it's not period.  What an idea!  As I said, we just danced this at
a *contemporary* party in rural Ireland. 

 

6/8 time?  No, not this one.  As I said, it was a very square 4/4 tune with
a 16 bar verse and a 16 bar refrain.

 

Fun?  Absolutely!  You should have seen all those geezers throw down...
