I am not an A&S judge so I will freely admit I'm not sure exactly how things run, but to me the solution is obvious - do away with anonymous commentary.  Like bloggers who have "turned off" anonymous comments to prevent this sort of bad behavior, announcing that no comments will be passed on that are unsigned forces folks to take responsibility for what they say.  Besides, of what value are your comments to me when, for all I know, you know nothing of the subject?
 
People are far less snarky when their name is attached, and even less so when they are face to face with the receipient of their "Britney Spears on a bender" behaviour.Makai
