It's just a suggestion, but.....you could always go up to the A&S coordinator in the morning at the event and ask them if they have enough judges, and offer your assistance. I'm sure that the roster is used, but I personally think the best way to get involved is to do what you have done, and offer your assistance. I also believe that participants should take the time to offer their judging skills at events. This way people get an idea of what it's like to judge. You don't have to be an expert on everything.
