Laurel has in fact sent out a later missive that indicates that the original
statement is not only premature and somewhat misleading as to the intent.
(The Laurel Office itself is NOT planning to send out notifications which is
the way the communicaton sounded.)

Whatever Laurel's eventual wording, it should not really affect Atlantia.

Triton and I have discussed this and Atlantia will in fact continue to send
individual notifications to submitters on all submissions actions, both
internal and at Laurel level, by U. S. Post.  

This gives the submitter a formal "piece of paper" certifying the status of
their submission which many submitters prefer.  Also, our experience over
the past eight years has been that the rate of non-delivery and/or return on
communications via U. S. Post has been much lower than that for
communications sent via email, particularly for the many Atlantian
submitters associated with military or academic institutions and subject to
occasional temporary migrations from the location from which they originally
submitted.
