I shall be free for a few hours at Unevent specifically because I'd like to
talk to anyone interested in working on/playing in our Kingdom Arts and
Sciences Festival on March 1, 2008. I'll be trying to hang out in the
gathering area.

I am specifically looking for folks who want to display or demo their art
forms, especially potters, woodworkers, armorers, blacksmith, and anyone
else who does "messy arts". We have a large area set aside for such things
in a covered pavilion with cement flooring.

I'm also beating the bushes for Knights or Fighters who would be willing to
demo or teach Fighting Arts - the skills or exercises that raise a wo/man
from "pleb with a weapon" to "terrifying wo/man of warfare", such as
fighting stances, footwork, polearm technique, "Harness through the ages
from Lorica to full plate" (remember that you're a lucky fighter if there is
someone in your area who has a selection for you to try on/out before you
get your own. Why not put them all in the same place as experienced fighters
and have a good discussion to compare the pros and cons of each?), "how to
pad a helm" - anything that will raise a person's fighting skill closer to
the level of Art.

I'd also love it if someone would be able to demo various forms of bows,
crossbows, arrows, or anything else that is related to our *SCA* form of
martial activity (for strictly historical forms, please contact Lord Dante
or me and I'll connect you to Dante).

Anyone who has any ideas or thoughts about this upcoming celebration of
skill and talent, please seek me out so your thoughts will be known.

And if someone is able to teach the strategy games of Go, tafl, or chess in
its many forms, please contact me.

in service,
Hrothny
