[MR] Fwd: site damage - a possible atonement

I'll respond because I'm sitting around in bed sick (AGAIN) and bored.

I know that in the eastern half of NC, not too terribly long ago (maybe 2 years) we did a very specific and intense demo for the scout troop leaders, specifically the parents and scoutmasters, where we were showing them some of what we do for the new Living History merit badge, and they fed us all lunch, and we talked about how what we do might apply to some other badges (sewing, for example, and bugle). They fed us lunch, we had a few tents up and a fighting demo and lots of A&S, and so on. This was more or less immediately prior to us using the White Oak boy scout preserve for some kingdom level event (a coronation, maybe? dunno.) It was a very good day.
If my stupid health problems would let me, I'd be thrilled to be able to go work on a clean-up day there (or wherever). So would a lot of us.

But if this park ranger was so upset that he was unable to give details and couldn't provide names or a contract or anything (did he contact the contract-holders with his concerns at the time?), I keep having this knee-jerk reaction that there is something else going on.
We have more than a few Boy Scout/SCA crossovers in this area, and are long familiar with them, and they with us. 'Course, I'm stuck in bed with no outside contact at the moment, and a very low event count for the past 1.5 years, so I could easily have missed something.

>Most Scout camps have days or weekends when volunteers, mostly Scouts themselves or parents or leaders, come in and do maintenance and upkeep on the facilities. In our area they call it "Beaver Day."
