Greetings all,

Sorry but I'm not on the Merry Rose so hopefully someone will pass this
on.
One lady offered a website from Ansteorra, I believe, and it is a very
Turkish version of the standard Mongolian Del. Consequently it is Mongol but not
the earlier period classic Mongolian Del.
However, for those who need a commercial pattern please seek out a copy
of Folkwear's Chinese Jacket. Ignore the short jacket and the button down
the front jacket. The one you want has the crossover front. While this
pattern shows the piece as a woman's pattern it is not. The Mongolian Del is, was
and always will be a unisex piece of garb.
You can vary the length, the number of slits in the del - ), 2 or 4 and
you can make it out of quite a variety of fabrics and colors.
If you are brave and daring or just need something to read to put you to
sleep I have an article I used as a class handout on Mongolian garb. It
includes such items as pants, vests (men only) and sleeveless over-dels (women
only) and I am more than happy to answer any questions. I can e-mail the file
but it is large so be prepared. The handout prints out as 17 pages.
Mistress Ingvild mentions I am slightly busy which is her very kind way
of saying I'm dealing with a husband who has just had open heart surgery.
For those who may have encountered the irascible Temur - well, that's his
latest adventure!
Always happy to share more Mongolian info! I can be reached at
