[MR] Fabric Dying Question

Good Morning!
   
  I have a question and am hoping that the experts in Atlantia can answer it for me!  I was given several yards of flamingo pink linen -- not kidding, that's the shade this is!  While several people have told me, "Oh, but that's period!" it's not a color that I really want to wear and I'd like some advice on how to tone it down some.
   
  I'd thought about tea-dying it, thinking that would take it to more of rose madder tone.  I hope...  Any other suggestions?  And what would be the best method to use?  I was thinking of boiling up a strong batch of tea and then pouring it all into a big plastic tub to soak for awhile.
