sigh...
  you know..  I've been playing in the SCA for almost 2 decades and I still don't know what all the fuss is about between those who like to fight and those who don't.. that is essentially what this arguement (as I percieve it) is about.
  SCA combat is a martial art..  thus it falls under "A&S"... everything in the SCA deals with the Arts&Sciences. I have seen events that have been dedicated to fighting and those dedicated to the non-combative; both are enjoyable, BOTH have the other represented in one way or another (with the probable exception of a Kingdom 12th night), and NIETHER is made the less for it. 
  KASF won't be made the lesser and as Ragnar Rex mentioned, There will be more draw of gentles. Which means more reservations, which also means MORE MONEY COMING IN!
  Why? Why in the WORLD  would someone complain about THAT???
  C'mon folks... play nice... yeesh...
