I will say the difficult to hear and unpopular things.

I will agree with you that there are probably enough martial events to keep
"us" entertained.
There are not, however, enough war practices for this Kingdom and they are
not for entertainment. They are training. Training can be entertaining, but
that is not it's purpose.

Who stood in the ranks when His Highness, then the Kingdom Warlord, berated
the assembled group in his embarrassment at this last Crusades?
I was, and I was embarrassed for him. For a commander to feel so impotent on
the field because of the failings of those who follow him that he is
compelled to attempt motivation through an assualt on the pride is a
travesty. But that failure was from the arranged fighters gathered under
the Atlantian banner that day, not his.

As individuals, there are a great many excellent fighters within this
kingdom. As a whole, none could readily say there is a lack of bravery.
Atlantia functions well as an auxilary to other kingdoms' armies; excellent
as a fire and forget mob of chargers to break up opponents or overwhelm by
sheer numbers. Atlantia does not, however, currently possess a functional
and powerful Army. Honestly, and sadly, much of the forces fielded are
undisciplined and untrained rabble with a few soldiers and masters of
warfare interspersed.... and far too few of them. They, at least, can know
they did not fail their commander on the field by any personal lack.

His Excellency, Baron Turgeis ended his signature to the announcement of
melee training at KASF very specificially: "First Sgt. in Charge of
Training."
No disrespect nor slight directed at Belphoebe, Mts Ysolt, and Ldy Rebecca,
but it is his job to train this force. It is not a matter of KASF having
fighting attached to it whenever it takes place. It is a matter of taking
every possible advantage to turn Atlantia's fighters into an Army. I must
say I am more than saddened at the jaded view of this situation that has
been expressed.

He has the hardest job in this situation. It is His Excellency's
responsibility to see there is a viable army on the field. It is on his
pride, his heart, and his mind if the army does not perform. It's his
responsibility to get "us" trained. He is the one who hears the dissention
to this the loudest.
It is two weeks to Gulf War XVI. Site opens the 11th of March. Squeezing in
a little more around St Paddy's Day Bloodbath is wise, if not requisite.
Pennsic and Gulf are the two great interkingdom conflicts that Atlantia
fields a host. Every bit of training helps. Every opportunity is needed.
Every dedicated fighter who means to show they are part of a strong,
independant, and viable Army of Atlantia needs to step up and do what must
be done to earn victory and respect.

Your Excellency Turgeis.... Top, I'll be there.
