The ADS  and the Society for Medieval Archaeology are pleased to announce
that in  celebration of the Society's 50th anniversary the first fifty
volumes of  Medieval Archaeology have been released  online:

Covering  papers published between 1957 and 2006, the release  will
ultimately
comprise two parts; the currently released digitised  articles followed
by
the corresponding plates and copyrighted images,  due in 2008. All papers
are
searchable in a number of ways and the  complete series of indexes has
also
been made available for reference  online.

This resource represents a freely available form of one of the  UK's most
significant scholarly journals and will further enhance it's  status as
an
invaluable source for all medieval archaeologists as well  as scholars
and
researchers in related fields. The release is also a  fantastic way to
celebrate the Society for Medieval Archaeology's 50th  anniversary.
