Greetings All! Another year has flown and the Winter Solstice is coming
soon. Ritterwald would like to invite all to a Gather with the Solstice
theme on Saturday, December 15th, 2007. THLady Arielle has once again been
so gracious to allow us to converge upon her estates to allow us an
opportunity to catch with old friends and met new. Please forward this
missive to any that may be interested.

Winter Solstice Gather in Ritterwald, 2007
 
Greetings unto the Populace! The Winter Solstice Gather in Ritterwald will
be held on Saturday, December 15th, 2007 from aproximately 10:00 am to
whenever.
Activities: Archery range will be open, possible thrown weapons range will
be open (check ahead, if you are iterested), heavy and rapier fighting,
bardic circle, general merriment! Space is available indoors for sewing
activities.
What to bring: The Gathers are traditionally pot luck feasts so bring adish
that will feed aprox. 6 people. Paper plates, etc. will be provided, so no
feast gear necessary. Chairs to sit on outside, day shades (or whateversort
of shade that you wish), personal beverages and supplies.Feast: Will be in
the late afternoon sometime. The site is very wet, no original containers
please. THL Arielle has floor space for people to sleep on but it is wooden
floors. Sheencourages people to stay over vs. drive unsafely. Tenting is
available.
Wear garb!! If you are new and don't have garb, let us know and we will
findsomething fun to throw on.
Cost: Nothing (Thank you Arielle!:) but waivers will have to be signed.
Place: 1042 Woodland Drive, New Ellenton. The mail box has 1042 and 1044 on
it.

Directions:From Aiken - South on 19 (Whiskey Rd) to New Ellenton. At only
light inthe town of New Ellenton (by Bush's Auto Repair, Ahsleys Furntiure,
andAiken Electric Office) go right on Smith Ave. Go to first stop sign at
OldWhiskey and turn left. Go about 50 yards and take first right
ontoWoodland Drive. Go about 1.5 miles and turn right onto driveway(between
privacy fence and stand of pine trees). Driveway is about 1/2mile long and
the house is the first one you come to. If you pass the house,the driveway
ends at the barn.From Windsor/Wiliston:Take 278 towards Augusta. Cross the
light at Whiskey road. Go about 1mile, take first paved right (hard right
turn) onto Woodalnd Drive (GrayMare Hollow is right AFTER Woodland Dr -
don't take it). Go about 1/2 mile and driveway is on the left - see
description above.From Augusta (if you prefer to come through Aiken, f ollow
the instructionsabove, otherwise, follow these):Get to Sand Bar Ferry Road
and cross the Savannah River into Beech Island.On the other side of Beech
Island, stay in left lane and follow the 278signs (NOT 125 to SRS). Go about
13 miles. You will see a DO NOT ENTERsign on the left, turn onto the road
immediately behind that sign -Woodland Drive. Go about 1/2 mile and my
driveway in on the left - seedescription from Aiken for the rest.
