Greetings to the list!

I will be teaching a book class at Coronation on Sunday at 11am (almost all
of the other A&S classes are on Saturday, and you were wondering what to do
on Sunday anyway, right?). Because the event theme is journeying down the
silk road, the class will focus on books for travelers: that is, girdle
books used by Western European travelers around 1400-1600. Time permitting,
we can also talk about books from more easterly binding traditions.

Now, if this topic is of interest to you, I have a question: would people
prefer a shorter (1 hour) class that's discussion and a look at some
replicas, or a longer class (2-3 hours) plus a supply fee of $5 or so where
people can begin creating their own girdle book? If I don't get much of a
response from folks, my default will be the shorter discussion class.

Because it will take me some time to create supply packets, let me know
soon if you are interested in the longer class. You can email me offlist at
hulan at verizon.net

Best wishes,
Aneira
