That's a ridiculous comment and I'm sorry that
happened.  My immediate reaction would have been
something like "you don't say!".  The obvious reply
from a lot of people is "note that in your
documentation and what your plans for edging might be
in the future."  This sort of response assumes that
judges are actually reading your documentation which
doesn't always happen.  That's exactly the sort of
comment that I would ignore but I would ask for
contact information from the one person that did help
you.
