Umm ... just to throw a couple of pennies on the fire, but A&S competitions tend to be a lot less "active" for the competitors. It'd be kind of a drag to have to commit all day to sit by your work at every event, on the offchance that someone might want to talk to you about it -- especially if there were other activities you wanted to participate in. :)

Possibly, but I have never stayed by my work and not found it to be a remarkable productive time. It doesn't need to be all day, just the hour or two allotted for Judging would be enough to make a big difference. As has been mentioned by people in this thread, and others to me...I just happened to be walking by while someone was judging my work and ended up having a great conversation about it. Perhaps just an idea for those who want to get the comments. Just a thought.
