exactly why i am personally in favor of announcing that a knight candidate
will sit vigil or a laurel or pelican candidate will sit in contemplation at
a future event. or even put the knight candidate on vigil (or the pelican /
laurel in contemplation) immediately and then do the ceremony at a future
event. big surprise and time to plan this one day well. ro, like others,
would have to wonder why her husband and all these friends from the east are
at this not major event. seems odd that there is any resistance to a delay
between the announcement and the ceremony.

just my take

I don't want to know, BUT I DO want my Laurel to know so that my husband who
rarely plays and possibly some friends from EK can come.

Whilst proud pf both the AoA and Opal, my joy is dimmed that my husband
wasn't there to see it.

Not that I think I have much to worry about Elevation wise.
