I also agree with Mistress Kiri. Having come to Atlantia from Northshield,
I have MANY friends and family that would, if informed in time, come to see
something as major as a peerage elevation, as would I to them.
Another thing to consider: When I received my Pearl, I was in the middle of
a massive migraine attack. My best memory of the day after lunch was trying
to sleep during feast while other gracious folks watched my child. I
received my award in the afternoon court. While a little notice may not
have changed the fact that I had a migraine, I may have pushed myself a
little less that event to be SURE I felt well for court. And had someone to
mind the kidlet.
I also think that being notified, placed on vigil and elevated in one
afternoon is just too quick to even consider the ramifications of the whole
event.
