Greetings unto the Populace of the Great and Glorious Kingdom of Atlantia
from the Royal Bard, Dunstan LeHeryngmongere-

Atlantian 12th Night (to be held in Charlotte) approaches rapidly, and
soon it shall be time for their Royal Majesties Ragnarr and Anneke to choose a
new Royal Bard. At Their request this year's competition shall be held in much
the same manner as it has been held for the last three years. The
competition shall be in three rounds. The first round shall be open to any aspiring
performer who wishes to enter. Judges shall choose a number of performers from
the first round (number to be determined based upon time available) to compete
in a second round. Judges shall choose two performers from the second round
to perform in front of Their Majesties and at Their whim. (In years past it has
typically been during feast). They shall then determine from those two the
gentle who will become their performing arts champion for the next year.
Any performance medium is acceptable (you need not be a singer to become
the performing arts champion- just a performer! Poetry, storytelling,
instrumental music, and any other performing art is acceptable). Period pieces are
not required, but judges will be using a judging criteria which includes points
for period pieces. Documentation is not required, but again points will be
awarded for documentation, which is highly encouraged.
Should you have any questions about the competition, the judging criteria
or the nature of the job of Royal Bard please do not hesitate to contact me,
Dunstan, at rangernealson at aol.com.

On another note, I have spent some of my year as Royal Bard trying to
collect songs, stories and poems about the Kingdom of Atlantia and it's Monarchs
to put into a notebook that is to be passed along to my successor. If you
have a contribution to make to this worthy book, please send it along to me.

In service to Atlantia and it's wondrous populace,

Dunstan LeHeryngmongere,
Royal Bard of Atlantia.

PLEASE cross post this to any appropriate lists.
