While I appreciate the "leave early" good advice, I'd like to point out
that some of us get two weeks total vacation in a year.  Take out a week
for Pennsic and what do you have left?

Long distance SCA traveling is not quite the no brainer it seems when you
have to plan a year's worth of leave on five days.  If you can leave early
more power to you, but don't assume everyone can afford to take the day
off before a kingdom level event.
