Are we supposed to bow before Dukes/Earls? How about
the peerage, Chivalry, Knights and such?

Has anyone ever been "arrested" by the court for not
bowing? (I'm having mental images of the court trouble
maker being dragged before the royalty/baronage
wearing medieval manicles and chastised for
disrespecting the crown - Now that's a hoot!).

I mean, all in fun, of course. Like the guy/gal that
goes to Salem, and has to be put into the "stocks" for
witchery.

(P.S. just a bit of trivia, but gentlemen up to the
1700's bowed in greeting to one another. George
Washington never shook hands, and always bowed. Thomas
Jefferson was the last U.S. president to bow, he put
an end to the antiquated and submissive act of bowing,
and only shook hands with those he greeted.)
