Greetings,
The May issue was submitted to the post office on April 24. This is how
things break down. All materials for the issue are due by the first of the
prior month (i.e., Dec 1 for January) except for the April (due 2/20) and
the September (due July 25) issues.
I have the issue to the printers by the 10th of the month, they have until
the 20th of the month to have it finished and submitted to the mailing
house. They will in turn have a few days to put on the mailing labels, sort
the newsletters by zip code and boxed for the US Post Office. Depending on
the time of year (i.e., winter holiday ad flyers) the bulk office in
Charlotte will have the Acorn out in a day or two. Then it is up to the
local postmaster for delivery.
They have up to 14 business days to have the 3rd class delivered and the 1st
class is delivered just like 90% of the rest of the mail.
Hope this gives you an idea of how the supply chain works so that everyone
can get their issue as quickly as possible.
Otto

Lord Otto ;
I subscribe to the Acorn with First Class Postage. What date did the May
issue
go to the U.S.Postale Service for delivery? I would appreciate this info so
I can contact
the Post Master of my local Post Office. Your assistance will be greatly
appreciated.
Thank You
Lord Melcher Lloyd of Hawkwood
