Greetings Fair Atlantians from Lady Beatrix von Leipzig, Autocrat
Storvik Novice and Unbelt Tourney,
As anyone who knows me could vouch, I am very optimistic, but in my
wildest delusions of grandure I never expected my first event to be so
successful, so well attended, or over so quickly. We had a final
count of 402 people on site including children, 35 new fighter
authorizations, and 40 Participants in the Unbelt Tourney including
several who drove down from the east Kingdom. There were over 120
people eating feast (the best one I have ever had the privelige to
eat!) and at least 50 people at the fireside bardic. What an event!
I cannot take even half of the credit for the wonderful event that we
had over the last weekend because without the help of just about
everyone in the Barony of Stovik, (and some people who are NOT
Stoviki) this event would not have been half so great. I only have so
much space on a page to write my thanks, so if you do not see your
name here and you so much as carried a chair or handed me a drink, you
deserve part of the credit for the success of this event.
Parking Crew- We knew that if this event was well attended, parking
would become a very difficult job very quickly, and it did. Lina as
head of parking crew did a great job managing the first rush of
parkers, and Ulric, Ysabella and one other man, whose name I never
caught really kept the traffic flowing and the cars parking.
Newcomer's Point- What a great way to welcome all the newcomers to
our knowne world. Gaspar Marti, the Castellan of Stovik brought
Plenty of loaner garb and arranged activites and prizes. I am sure we
have recruted several of them permanently.
Waterbearers - Aluria and Sebastian had never done waterbearing at an
event before, but they utilized resources and manned the tables all
day. With some guidance from Lady Anne la Settere the WB went as
smoothly as if old pro's were running it.
Archery- Thomas of Cheltanham and Gregor von Leipzig may have put on
the best archery range ever, short of a Kingdom Archery Tournament.
More targets, more scenarios and what Beatuiful targets they were!
The one that slid down hill on a line was especially cool
MOL and MIC- What a tough day they had with Authorizations 2 Tourneys,
Youth Combat and Melees all in the same day Inez Garcia and William
the Younger really Met a tough challenge and deserve my thanks.
Set up Crew- There were lots of People setting up, but Duke Bedouin,
his Lady Griel, and His Squire Griffin, set up the MOL, Waterbearing,
and Newcomer's Dayshades Big thanks!
Isabella Luvier de Orleans- What a woman! she not only provided the
lovely toiletries set up, but she helped MOL with authorizations and
helped retian for the Baroness and helped with the parking... She
also made me a sandwich and put up with me being tottally grumpy. For
this she deserves more thanks than I am able to convey.
Llyr Wyndhaven- Plumber, TP runner, Wood deliverer, and backup for
when my body would not let me go on...
Anne of Storvik, She set up the list fence, Served Feast, went to the
store, and did just about anything she saw needed doing without ever
being asked, I send her special thanks.
There were also several others that provided thier invaluable service,
experience and advice without whom, this first time autocrat would
have been lost: Meisterin Johanna at Troll, Dame Gwenlian, my keeper,
Baroness Sunniva, and Duchess Kyneburh who had no assigned role,
but handed me food and helped the MOL, and anywhere else they saw
needed it.
The Feast Crew... Oh My Goodness was feast incredible. With NO
running water, No electricity, and with Full Documentation.
I am truly humbled by the effort and hard work everyone put in. This
event was a major success, and I hope that other events in the barony
will be as successful, as well attended, and as fun as thie Novice and
Unbelt Tourney Was.
In humble service,
Lady Beatrix von Leipzig
Stovik Cornet
Autocrat
